
Deborah has 20 years’ experience in the metals and mining sector. Prior to joining Société Générale Deborah was with Barclays’ mining investment banking team in London where she was responsible for mining structured finance for EMEA and the Americas, as well as global coverage for clients such as Rio Tinto.
Deborah’s transaction experience includes corporate
facilities, acquisition finance, project finance, debt capital
markets, and risk management. Deborah has led and
supervised transactions in Australia, Indonesia, Canada, USA,
Brazil, Peru, Mexico, South Africa, Burkina Faso, and Mali and
her cross-commodity experience includes iron ore,
bauxite/alumina, nickel, copper, lithium and gold.
Deborah began her career as a process engineer with BHP,
where she worked for 8 years in operations, project
development, and investment evaluation on multiple sites in
Australia and internationally.
Deborah holds a Bachelor of Metallurgical Engineering
(University of NSW) with First Class Honours, a Master of
Business Administration (University of Queensland) Dean’s
Honour Role, is a Member of AusIMM, and Graduate of the
Australian Institute of Company Directors.
